OUR CURRENT COMPETITIONS

2025 ESSAY COMPETITION

We are excited to launch the Warwick Future Economist Essay Competition 2025/26, run by the Warwick Economics Society in collaboration with Warwick’s Economics Department - ranked 1st in the UK in the Good University Guide 2025.

Questions

Who Can Enter?

​

  • Is the era of globalisation coming to an end - and what would that mean for the global economy?

  • Can AI-driven automation solve the productivity puzzle in advanced economies, or will it create new vulnerabilities?

  • How should the government balance the goals of reducing inequality and promoting economic growth?

​

The competition is open to all students aged 16-18, from any background of study, with an interest in Economics.

Why Take Part?

  • Boost your university application: Shortlisted essays will receive commendations, ideal for UCAS or CVs

  • Get recognised: The winning essay will be published in our flagship Assumptions magazine

  • Win prizes: £100 for the winner, plus £50 each for two runners-up
