Lily Jenkins, Junior Editor

"I've loved every aspect of being a Junior Assumptions Editor so far. The insight it provides into the journalism world is unmatched. As a non-economics student, I was initially uncertain, but the warm welcome from EconSoc has been amazing. Being involved with both the Freps and Junior Editor team creates a great sense of community. Writing the recent assumptions article on technology allowed me to enhance my knowledge and writing with great support from the senior editors. I couldn’t recommend this experience more for anyone looking to grow in both journalism and economics."

Sam Powell, Junior Editor

"Being a junior editor has allowed me to deepen my knowledge in development economics, an area of the subject which interests me the most. In the most recent edition, I investigated the ways technology can foster growth in Sub-Saharan Africa and was able to apply my economic knowledge to different contexts from outside my degree. I’ve enhanced my ability to research and write engaging pieces and enjoy the freedom we are given when deciding on what articles to write for each edition, which allows us to be creative and explore our personal interests."

Olly Hughes, Junior Editor

“Writing for assumptions has been an exciting way for me to expand my knowledge of developments in the current market. Bringing this to students in the form of an article has been an enjoyable way to both educate myself and others. I’m looking forward to my next headline!”
